Medicare Services is the only medical company in Lebanon recognized by almost all the insurance compagnies for a full coverage of in-home sleep test (HST), we recommend all our patients to check with their Health insurance to confirm the level of their coverage.

Home Sleep Study Test (HST):

At-home sleep apnea testing is an easy, cost-effective way to figure out whether you’re having trouble breathing. A home sleep apnea test is a very simplified breathing monitor that tracks your breathing, oxygen levels, and breathing effort while worn during the night. The test is attended by a sleep technologist and capture lots of signals, including brainwaves for sleep, muscle tone, and leg movements. It is mainly performed for people with certain heart, breathing, or neuromuscular problems.

Therefore overnight home sleep studies give a more thorough assessment of sleep issues and many other disorders such as:

Advantages of In-Home Sleep Testing

Many people who suffer from undiagnosed sleep problems wonder if it would be better to have an in-lab sleep analysis in the hospital or a home study. Here are some of the reasons why patients prefer to have a sleep specialist perform the assessment at their house.

1- Comfort & Convenience

For some, the idea of sleeping in a different bed and being monitored can be unsettling or scary. That is why performing a sleep test in their own bed is the natural choice. It’s less intrusive and you can keep to your regular bedtime routine in the privacy of your own home.

For anyone that is home-bound, such as the elderly or patients with a chronic condition or who require in-home care, this type of sleep test is ideal.

Plus, it’s convenient even for busy people; you can schedule the test for a time that works for you and take the equipment home when you’re ready. Then, with a few instructions, patients are able to hook up the necessary physiological monitors and go to bed as usual.

2- Cost & Insurance Coverage

In addition to being more convenient, an in-home sleep study is also more cost effective. Usually, the fee is about ¼ of the cost of a test performed at a sleep center or hospital in Lebanon. Insurance policies are generally more likely to cover in-home sleep testing. Check with your Lebanese health insurance to see if your situation meets the criteria for full or partial coverage. Most require a doctor’s referral, initial consultation with a sleep specialist or the presence of symptoms related to a disorder such as sleep apnea. Symptoms that may be expressly required for insurance purposes include excessive sleepiness, loud snoring, nighttime gasping, choking or observed sleep apneas.

3- Accuracy

In-home sleep studies are just as accurate as testing performed in a sleep center or hospitals. The evaluation has a high rate of precision when diagnosing the existence and even the severity of sleep apnea and other sleep disorders.

EtCO2 Sensor

ProTech Sensors

Our easy-to-place sensors are used in sleep testing facilities around the world, and help you meet important AASM accreditation standards. See our full line of sensors that detect respiratory airflow, respiratory effort, snoring, periodic limb movements, and sleep position.

Thermal airflow

Our thermocouples and thermistors are compatible with most major PSG systems. Variations include the ability to monitor oral/nasal separately and/or together with adult and pediatric sizes, and disposable thermocouples. Insulated tips eliminate artifact and are available in single and separate channel versions.

PTAF sensor

Our pressure transducer devices are used to monitor airflow and snore. They are designed to generate precise signals and produce an accurate flow-based snore channel

Cannulas

Pro-Flow and Pro-Flow Plus cannulas are designed for pressure transducers and provide optimal performance and comfort. With soft, narrow prongs they help provide minimal nasal resistance.

ezRIP and zRIP DuraBelt effort

Our affordable zRIP technology provides true breathing movement tracings with no false paradoxing and accurate signals for the detection of respiratory effort. The zRIP sensor belts have been designed for complete patient coverage and are fully washable. The zRIP modules are available in a SUM RT (breath-to-breath summation) and in a non-sum model.

Piezo effort sensor

Our full line of piezo respiratory effort sensor solutions are designed to provide trouble-free, clear tracings of respiratory effort. Available in pediatric small, pediatric, and adult sizes.

Snore sensors

Select from two snore sensing options: piezo sensors and microphones. Both are compatible with most PSG systems.

Body position sensor

Our easy-to-place body position sensors help facilitate the diagnosis of sleep-disordered breathing.

Periodic limb sensor

Our easy-to-use limb movement sensors are designed for patient comfort while detecting a patient's leg or arm movement during sleep studies.

Sleepware G3 Software

Sleepware G3 with Somnolyzer powers both our Alice in-lab and portable sleep testing devices. When it comes to diagnosing your patients, Sleepware G3 offers easy-to-use capabilities that supports extensive workflow efficiencies.

Dynamic workspaces to suit all users

Define an unlimited number of dynamic, time-synchronized workspaces to suit individual workflow preferences during acquisition, scoring and physician review. A workspace can be customized to meet staff member’s scoring styles and display needs

One common software platform and database, Sleepware G3, to manage studies from our in-lab PSG, Alice 6, and portable sleep testing devices, Alice NightOne and Alice PDx. Sleepware G3 is a robust platform with enhanced functionality to help busy sleep labs better meet their business and workflow needs, regardless of their lab size.

Exclusive autoSV Composite Channel Display

The direct connection of the Omnilab Advance + allows for digital integration with Alice 6, eliminating the need for channel calibrations and multiple cable connections. Omnilab Advanced +, when used with Alice 6, offers an exclusive therapy composite channel that is helpful for complex titrations. This channel automatically captures all relevant features pertaining to the settings you need to see.

Integrated computer-assisted Somnolyzer scoring

Somnolyzer is a clinically-validated, computer-assisted sleep scoring system designed to help simplify and improve sleep study scoring productivity, accuracy, and consistency. Somnolyzer has been show to reduce the amount of time spent on manual scoring by 50-80%. The results of a Somnolyzer-analyzed study will reveal an easy to understand Confidence Trend that is represented similar to a traffic light. The traffic light will direct a clinician to areas of the study requiring more careful attention. Somnolyzer is an optional feature of Sleepware G3, accessible with a per use license activation.

Optional Services

Cloud Services, Citrix support, Inbound, Outbound and Bidrectional HL7 interface to EMR, and Somnolyzer scoring.
